WHERE IS THE MAN – Giovanni Perugini

Our body: the tangible, visible proof of our conscience. A mirror, for anyone to see himself reflected. We only see ourselves reflected. A safeguard against reality. We engage a painful struggle for the suppression of our primitive instincts, as long as it lasts… building ourselves a spiritual justification for the suicide of our “other”. Pleasure is regulated, restricted and judged. Even aesthetics and beauty, as forms of pleasure, serve the purpose of social cohesion. Or maybe should we let the “other” go free…? An attempt to find a balance within our nature, not beyond.
